PAUL'S BACKGROUND: Decades of practising the law, serving clients from numerous countries across multiple continents, Paul brings a breadth and depth of expertise to the team that can only come from a lifetime of experience. Over the years, Paul has served many high-profile clients with global footprints - most recently serving as the Bahamian Counsel for Sandals Resorts.

 

Something unique to Paul's professional background, is his considerable experience working with multinational companies in several Cuban joint ventures involving metals, oil, mining, and gas. Paul has enjoyed extensive success in setting up spvs, as well as developing and growing excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, for conducting business in Cuba. Paul is a foremost expert on offshore companies participating in Cuban business ventures; he understands business practices and procedures for incorporation, as well as maintenance and compliance for foreign companies and investment in Cuba, as comprehensively as anyone.

 

Paul started his legal career with one of the largest law firms in the Bahamas - where he spent several decades before forming Constantakis-Knowles, and then joining Providence.

ACHIEVEMENTS, APPOINTMENTS, and AFFILIATIONS: ​

• Represented Sandals in its acquisition of its Emerald Bay Resort (formerly Four Seasons) in Great Exuma.

• Involved in the establishment of one of the first Bahamian mutual funds.

• Involved in the establishment of an offshore spv that is one of the most successful Cuban joint ventures with an international investor.

• The Bahamas Bar Association.

• Member - Rotary Club of East Nassau.

• Published in numerous shipping journals, including Shipping Finance Annual.

I am a father and grandfather - I love spending time with my family and spoiling my grindchildren. Some of my hobbies include: traveling with friends and family, gardening, fishing, exercising, and studying history.
