NERISSA'S BACKGROUND: Ms. Nerissa A. Greene's career as an Attorney spans over 20 years, she is a Senior member of The Bahamas Bar. Ms. Greene's areas of practice includes Civil and complex Commercial Litigation. She also practices in Family matters, Divorce and Matrimonial Litigation.
Ms. Greene has experience appearing in all of the Courts in The Bahamas. She has been successful in both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Ms. Greene was successful in a 2009 landmark case regarding the legality of Prenuptial Agreements and the enforceability of such agreements when it comes to the dissolution of marriage. This landmark decision has brought about reviews nationally and internationally, prompting calls for the amendments to the law regarding marital contracts. Ms. Greene has also represented various financial institutions and has been successful in both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

ACHIEVEMENTS, APPOINTMENTS, and AFFILIATIONS: ​

The first Attorney to challenge the legality of prenuptials in a Divorce proceedings in The Bahamas. In a landmark decision in 2009, the Supreme Court of The Bahamas accepted that Prenuptial Agreements ought to be considered in contracts made between parties in matrimonial.

Board of Directors' Member at the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) - assisted in the drafting of Financial Services Legislation.

A promoter of providing Free Legal Services to the general communities in The Bahamas.

A former - and one of the first female - Legal Talk Show Host(s) in The Bahamas known as "The Pandora's Box".

MESSAGE FROM NERISSA: My passion for the law, I think makes me the Attorney, I am today. I have an innate desire to help others; achieving this goal through my profession is a plus. My goal has always been to make 'good' jurisprudence (make law) and - by extension - change the lives of my community for the better. My approach to working with clients, is to put myself in their situation and try to always achieve results that they would be extremely satisfied with.

I am passionate about success, not being complacent, and not blindly accepting the status quo; this impacts how I approach my work and life. I am extremely meticulous in my goals, I consistently drive for success in my profession, and I have instilled the same qualities in other young professionals whom I mentor. I am a mother of an eight (8) year old and her role model - I work hard daily, to leave a legacy that she can emulate and be proud off.
